The opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Pre-Sales Engineer. This is a role for a technical consultant who wants to take the lead building our client pipeline and creating custom predictive analytics solutions for clients around the world.

This is a chance to for a Pre-Sales Engineer to be hands-on in a client facing and technical advisory role. An opportunity to work with the product management team, relaying client requests and feedback and collaborating on the messaging with Marketing.

What you will do:

  • Be the external-facing SME. You will demonstrate competency as a vertical and technical subject matter expert by thoroughly understanding all Angoss solutions.
  • Be a direct contributor. You will provide updates to sales on current projects, and provide post-sales handovers for smooth transition through to implementation.
  • Be the technical expert. You will use your Angoss expertise to provide marketing support by writing technical white papers, video scripts and analyst briefings.
  • Be supportive. You will be responsible for supporting the evaluation stage of the sales process. You will work consultatively, in conjunction with the sales team, to perform discovery, design creative solutions, and demonstrate the solutions.
  • Be dynamic. You will help drive prospects to closure using supportive proof of concept. You are comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a rapidly growing technical organisation with an expanding customer base.
  • Be organised and analytical. You will eliminate sales obstacles by successfully representing the technical and business aspects of how the solution solves specific customer problems. You will collect required customer information to help design solutions, work closely with sales and respond to RFPs.


Our new Pre-Sales Engineer has:

  • The education. You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics or Data Science.
  • The experience. You have a combined 5+ years in a technical pre-sales support role or management consulting. You can expertly deliver client-focused solutions based on customer requirements.
  • The technical expertise. You have proven hands-on experience in analytics, programming and algorithm development including:
  • Big data analytics, data management, data mining. Technologies such as Jupyter, PYSpark and Hadoop would be an asset.
  • Business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Qlik would be an asset.
  • SAS language, products and technologies.
  • Programming, scripting and high-level languages including R, Python, PySpark, Scala,  and SQL l.
  • The knowledge. You have exposure working with predictive analytics as well as an understanding of machine learning modelling and concepts.
  • The ownership and drive. You are motivated by success - both your own and your client’s. You excel at influencing decisions of executive decision makers.
  • The communication skills. Your presentation and demonstration skills to all levels of business that are both technical and non-technical are outstanding. You have excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to write clear, detailed technical requirements, design specifications and project documents.
